Craig Lock was born in Cape Town, South Africa. He and his New Zealand wife, m (“the nurse”) are inveterate world travellers, which is why their housekeeping budget is always blown (and their twin boys have no shoes). They are presently living in beautiful New Zealand in the ‘slow lane’. Craig was a life assurance man all his life (and proud of it), but not having made it to even the middle of the “business pyramid”, he changed direction in life…drastically. As he climbed up the corporate ladder, he found it got narrower and narrower… until he fell off. Also finding himself at middle age in a small town at the bottom of the world with nothing to do and no prospects, he took up writing. This is his third book with many more in the pipeline. He loves writing and is absolutely sure that he has found his niche in life. Anyway, what other job would be suitable for him?
Craig has learnt plenty from the “school of life” (still “battered and bruised”) and also from a few “hard knocks on the head”. He is an extensive world traveller (on a “shoestring budget”) and failed professional emigrater who has spent most of his lifes savings on airfares. He is still sliding down the razor blade of life on the beautiful undiscovered island that is New Zealand, somewhere near the bottom (rude!) of the world near Antarctica. There he talks to the 60 million sheep! Craig has been involved in the corporate world (life assurance) for over twenty years, However, through a strange set of circumstances and finding himself in a small town near the bottom of the world …and with nothing else to do, he started writing. That was five years ago. Five published books later and having written another twenty manuscripts (on widely differing subjects – well what else is there to do here?)… this is where Craig is in the “journey/adventure” that is life.

Here’s some more (to “digest”)
…
About the Author on the ‘Writing Journey’:
Craig Lock is an author of numerous books and the creator of the ORIGINAL online creative writing course. He has been writing full-time for the past “lucky” seven years. Craig has had five books published on various subjects with another 12 manuscripts being published and marketed on the Internet. Craig has taught at the local Polytechnic, as well as running a successful creative writing course (not teaching sheep!). He was the author of (as far as we know) the “extremely popular” first creative writing course on the internet.
Craig has many varied interests and passions. He is particularly interested in the field of sport and sport psychology – studying the human mind and what makes different people “tick-tock grandfather clock”. He is fascinated by the “overlap between psychology and the dimension of spirituality”.
He loves to encourage and empower people to be the best they can possibly be, and to create what they want in life. One of his missions in life is helping people make the most of their hidden potential and so finding their niche in life… so that they are happy. Craig’s various books probably tell more about his rather “eventful” life best (no one could believe it!). He writes books with serious messages and themes, then as a contrast “rather crazy, wacky stuff”…to keep him sane here. As an ‘anonymouse’ person wrote: “All of us are born mad; some of us remain so. “Well nothing else much happens in quiet provincial New Zealand, other than headlines like “Golf Ball Thrown at Policeman” and “Beach Toilet Closed for Season.”. True!
The year 1998
About the Author on the ‘Writing Journey’:
Craig has a ‘passion’ for writing books that tell stories about people doing positive things in this often so hard, sometimes unkind world, occasionally cruel, yet always amazing world – true stories that leave the reader feeling uplifted, empowered and hopefully even inspired.
“I ‘work’ with ideas…and words are my tools.”
“I write because I simply HAVE to”
“Writers help readers to see the world differently.”
“I write because something inside myself, inner and unconscious forces me to. That is the first compulsion. The second is one of ethical and moral duty.”
“I write about and believe in the resilience of humanity- I truly believe in the triumph of the human spirit.”
“I really value words and the power of them to communicate effectively; so in my various stories try to illustrate and then let readers draw their own conclusions about a certain scenario, as well as the characters searching for their own values in an increasingly complex social and political landscape. However, I do feel an obligation to give a complete picture of the situation, which is often not a clear-cut ‘black or white’ issue (as in South Africa). I never want to proscribe how people should think and feel my only duty as a writer is to be totally honest.”
– craig
“I love to write about, share stories of the resilience and courage of ordinary (what’s that?) people.”
In his various writings Craig strives in some small way to break down and economic, social, cultural and religious barriers. Craig believes that whilst we should celebrate our differences, what we share in the form of our common humanity is way more important than what divides us.
Craig believes in (and loves) sharing information and insights to try to make some difference in this world: to help and especially encourage people along life’s magical journey to live their dreams and be all they can be… and that brings him the greatest joy. He truly believes in the great potential of people to be all they can be an become. Craig is currently “working” on ‘Endless Possibilities, Far and Great Horizons’ – true inspiring stories of the human condition in overcoming seemingly impossible odds.
In his life mission Craig hopes to encourage, motivate and inspire people to be their best through realising their full potentials and live their very best lives. Craig believes in the great potential of every human being in the journey of life and loves to encourage people to share their individual (and guiding) spirits, so that they become all that they are CAPABLE of being.

Obsessive or WHAT! Am really pleased you are enjoying my writings, as the reason I write is to share. However I am unable to keep up with the comments and was spending entire days just on replies on my various blog pages.
Though I’m rather “driven”, I still get really, really fatigued (there’s a few books there). so sorry can’t reply individually to all you good people scattered around the planet, but DO try to read as many as possible daily (and even moderate a few when I get a “mo”), I got swamped with comments on my various blogs, so have had to close them off on all of my blogs, except for one or two of particular interest to me.
Sorry and hope you can understand.

Is it tough to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but
